Internal medicine doctors at the Anne Arundel County Medical Center say they’re quitting the private health insurance industry in an effort to save money.
“I have to make sure that we have enough money to keep our staff here,” said Dr. Jeffrey R. Stahl, chief of internal medicine at the center.
“We are all making $150,000 a year.
It’s not enough.
We need to keep this going.”
Dr. David Pascale said he has been working with a network of private doctors to offer discounted coverage.
“I’m going to continue to do my job, and the more I see the better,” he said.
“My primary concern is the quality of care.
If we’re not making that commitment to the patients and the quality, then what’s the point of the work?”
Dr. David Schreiber said.
“It’s an important role in the medical profession, and it has to be done well.”Dr
